Staff Council election ballots have been sent out! Please complete your ballot and help select your representatives for next year. You will be able to vote until July 31st, 5 p.m.

Follow-up to Remote Work Survey
Please help guide Staff Council by completing this survey about remote and hybrid work at UT Dallas. This is a follow-up survey to the one conducted in fall 2021. Your feedback will help Staff Council determine how we advocate for staff interests, plan future events and allocate resources. The survey should take less than ten minutes and all responses are voluntary, anonymous and only accessible by Staff Council. The survey will close on July 31, 2024.

Summer Parking Lot Maintenance
Summer parking lot maintenance is currently underway and there will be parking configuration changes occurring in several parking lots and parking structures due to the considerable number of construction projects affecting parking on campus.

Annual Benefits Enrollment July 15-31
Annual Benefits Enrollment for UT Dallas benefits-eligible employees is currently open and will continue through Wednesday, July 31. During this period, you may enroll in or change your plan year 2024-2025 insurance benefit elections, sign up for or re-enroll in UT FLEX, and add or remove dependents from your coverage plan.

New Reflection Space Honors Bruce August Jr.
The University of Texas at Dallas has dedicated a reflection space near the northwest corner of the Erik Jonsson Academic Center to honor longtime campus leader Bruce August Jr. BS’07, who died last year.
August’s family, colleagues and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity brothers attended a June 28 ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil the reflection space, which features two benches and a plaque.

 New Wellness Leave Benefit for Employees
As of July 1, benefits-eligible employees at UT Dallas can take up to eight hours each academic year for wellness activities. To earn wellness leave, employees must receive an annual physical/preventative care examination and complete an online health risk/well-being assessment.

 Employee News Shifts to New Campus Intranet Site
Employees at The University of Texas at Dallas now have access to a new intranet website that provides articles, announcements, reminders and resources specifically focused on UTD staff and faculty. The new Intercom website expands on the previous bi-weekly employee emails.

Staff Council Scholarship Application Now Available
Staff Council sponsors scholarships to support staff members pursuing academic and vocational programs. UT Dallas Staff Scholarships in the amount of $300 are awarded per recipient, per semester. Awarding the Staff Council Scholarship is contingent upon an applicant’s successful completion of credit-granting courses during the semester in which the applicant applies. Fall scholarship applications are due by October 1.
The Need to Know of Campus Parking
Elena Galli Grant, Assistant Director, Parking & Transportation Services and Staff Council Representative for District 4 has prepared a list of common questions and answers regarding campus parking.
New CRM Project
The University of Texas at Dallas has embarked on a digital transformation to implement an enterprise-wide Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) system to enhance the UT Dallas experience with a 360-degree view for students, faculty, and staff. This CRM strategy will support the whole student lifecycle, from the moment future students are identified as prospects, become Comets, and persist through graduation, allowing UT Dallas to provide higher quality opportunities for engagement.
HR Update
The salary threshold for some exempt employees increased on July 1, 2024, to $43,888 and will increase again on January 1, 2025, to $58,656. HR is reviewing job titles and salaries to determine who will be impacted by this change. More details are available through the HR forum website.
