Solar Flare – September 2023

We started off the new year with an in-person meeting last week. Though I enjoy and appreciate the convenience of Teams meetings, it was a pleasant experience to see fellow staff members in person and have the random conversations that cannot happen in a big online meeting format.

Update from Human Resources: Colleen Dutton, Chief Human Resources Officer

• HR Open House
  • September 27, in AD 3.418 suite, from 2-3:30 pm
  • Stop by to meet their staff in person.
  • The first 100 people in attendance get a free T-shirt!
• Flu Shots will be available on campus October 5-6. Learn more and sign up here.

• Salary Compensation Study
  • The contract has been signed, 1 new staff position filled, and 1 new staff position still open.

Over the next many months, we will share with you as we learn more.

Staff Council Business:

• We voted for our new Executive Board and recapped outstanding business and proposals from last Fiscal Year which we will continue striving for in this year.

Faculty Senate:

• The Provost’s website was recently updated. They are looking for feedback; if you have any applause, questions, or suggestions, please contact them.
